Become A GEEP Member By Registering Below

Instructions: Please be as comprehensive as possible when completing the following registration form.

  • The form is divided into eight sections. Only the first section (Create A Login Profile *Required Now*) must be completed at this time.
  • Completing (at least) the first section, and accepting the GEEP Membership Agreement (by checking the " yes (required)" box above the "Submit" button), will create a Profile which allows you to login into this website and add to or modify all the registration questions that appear here (after an administrator approves your initial submission).
  • Although sections two through eight are not required at this time, all sections will be required before acceptance into the program.

* Do You Accept the Consultation Agreement for the GEEP?

Project Overview: GEEP consists of seven (7) export assistance deliverables specifically designed to prepare and enable U.S. suppliers of green technologies, particularly small-and medium-sized (SME) California suppliers, to initiate and expand export sales to China. Green technologies eligible for GEEP services include renewable energy equipment (wind, solar, tidal, geothermal); pollution controls (air, water, sewage); and energy efficient building materials. The Center for International Trade Development (CITD) and the EL CAMINO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT hereby agrees to provide GEEP services to the (COMPANY) under the terms and conditions stated herein. Services CITD will Provide Ongoing Export Advice/Counseling: The CITD will be available to COMPANY for advice and counseling throughout this project, including assistance by telephone or during visits to the CITD office. CITD contacts will be Maurice Kogon, Bronwen Madden and/or Kerry Bonner (310-973-3173). Customized Competitiveness Audit/SWOT: An industry consultant team led by California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC), a State and federally-funded non-profit organization, will meet with appropriate COMPANY managers at its site, observe operations at the facility, and provide a written and oral report to COMPANY with findings and recommendations. COMPANY may make use of this report in any manner it wishes, with no obligation with respect to any of the findings or recommendations. If COMPANY requests, the CMTC consultant will provide up to four hours of follow-up consulting at no cost to implement a SWOT analysis or assist with one or more of the recommendations. Optional Advanced Manufacturing Training: If recommended in the Competitiveness Audit, COMPANY may request the El Camino College Business Training Center to provide “lean” or related advanced manufacturing training. COMPANY will either pay directly for such training or obtain it free under the El Camino College’s Employment Training Panel (ETP) contract. Customized Export Readiness Assessment (ERA): The CITD’s Web-based diagnostic tool will be used to assess COMPANY’s export readiness and potential, based on answers to 23 questions about its company and products. The ERA report will identify specific export strengths/weaknesses in each of the 23 areas and recommend specific actions to overcome weaknesses and increase export readiness. COMPANY may make use of the ERA in any manner it wishes, with no obligation with respect to any of the findings or recommendations. Export Training: COMPANY managers and staff will have the opportunity to attend any or all of six, 3-hour workshops designed to overcome resistance, instill confidence, and increase competency in export analysis, planning, distribution, pricing, promotion, compliance, logistics and finance, with particular application to China. The six workshop topics include: • Fundamentals of Export • China’s “Green” Market – Market Potential, Business Culture, Best Entry Strategies • Finding Chinese Partners & Concluding Contracts & Agent/Distributor Agreements • Financing Green Exports to China & Getting Paid • Regulatory Compliance & Legal Do’s and Don’ts for China • Freight & Logistics – Delivering Green Exports to China Market Research Kit: Although market research how-to’s will be covered in the training component, the CITD will compile a market research package tailored to COMPANY’s industry and product lines. This package will include information needed to identify best markets and market entry strategies, drawn from relevant trade statistics, product market surveys, trade regulations, target-country marketing guides, and guides to cross-cultural business practices. Customized Export Market Plan: The CITD will assist COMPANY to develop a customized Export Market Plan (EMP) for China, utilizing the CITD’s EMP template. The customized EMP will reflect COMPANY’s own resources and capabilities and draw on the above market research to identify best market entry strategies for China and further identify the specific actions, and costs thereof, that COMPANY agrees to undertake over a 6-12 month period to carry out the plan. Targeted Promotion: The CITD will advise COMPANY on promotional techniques and provide information about relevant options and media to increase exposure in the China market. COMPANY will have the opportunity to participate in designated GEEP trade events in California and China. The CITD will cover all or a portion of COMPANY’S booth costs at one such event of interest in China. Targeted Matchmaking: The CITD will assist COMPANY to find and select qualified agents and/or distributors in China. The CITD will pay the prescribed fee in COMPANY’s behalf for one International Partner Search (IPS) or equivalent service of the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC) in China. As an option, COMPANY may request CITD’s legal consultant to prepare a customized Agent/Distributor Agreement for use in China at a discounted fee of $500. Terms & Conditions GEEP Fee: The total fee for the specified services is US$1,000, payable upon acceptance of this agreement. Payment shall be made to: CITD-El Camino Community College District. This fee does NOT cover costs for any additional expenses not specifically provided for in this agreement, such as costs for subscription, commissioned research, non-designated trade events, travel, legal services, and the like. COMPANY’s Responsibilities: COMPANY will make reasonable efforts to respond to CITD requests for relevant company information and to follow through promptly on mutually agreed actions. COMPANY specifically agrees to promptly report results of the GEEP assistance received, such as attributable export inquiries, orders, distributorships and sales, using survey instruments provided by the CITD. Both parties will inform each other promptly of any unforeseen changes, new developments, or other issues that impact this agreement, so that both can adjust plans accordingly.
